  • $15-$25 an hour.
  • I could make $10-$12 an hour.
  • With experience, and be on a state you can make $26 an hour.
  • You could make $130,000 a year driving a water truck in the oil fields in the Dakotas.
Typical Day
  • Do pre-trip inspection.
  • Get water and spray down dirt.
  • May fill up 20 times a day in summer.
  • Fill from lake, stream, or fire hydrant.
Purpose of a water truck
  • The DNR and Feds. mandate that you use a water truck to keep the dust down in pits.
  • need water to compact dirt.
  • cool pavement so it doesn't stick to roller.
Jobs
  • There's not much for water truck drivers because of the economy.
  • You need a water truck for construction though.
